San Deigo Zoo

I took some time off work so as a family we decided that we would go to San Diego Zoo. To say that Avery loves animals would be an understatement. This little girl freaks out with the highest pitch screech anytime she even sees an animal.
When we arrived at the Zoo Avery was just in awe of everything she saw. Avery loved to watch the animals and the people. She would point at EVERYTHING and say "duh, duh."  It melted my heart to see her enjoying herself.

This is Avery signing bird, well her backwards version of bird.

This is a perfect picture of the sheer joy Avery had while at the zoo. When Avery would get really excited she would cover her mouth and say, "ohhh." Nate was such a trooper and carried Avery on his back for the one million miles that we walked. :)

Good thing there was glass between us and this lion because this guy looked pretty hungry and Avery wanted nothing more then to get in and play with the lion.

Throughout the Zoo they had a few of these concrete like animals that the kids could climb all over. Avery really thought these were cool; I am sure she loved being able to get out of the hiking back pack and run around a little bit.

At the petting part of the zoo Avery chased the goats around and would try to cuddle with them. How stinking cute is this? She was so sweet with every goat and loved to be around them.

The line to see the pandas was never ending. I thought that it wouldn't be too bad until we got stuck right in the middle of the never ending ling.  It was so super sad, the entire time in line everyone was talking about the baby panda that was about a year old and how cute it was... then right as we got up to see it, the baby and the mom went in... BOOOO!!!

This is Avery and I checking out the napping panda. So, interesting fact that I learned at the zoo: All panda's are property of China and even the baby panda is still property of China and are only on loan to the United States.

After about the fifth hour into our drive home Avery lost it! I would get her every last toy and stuffed animal and she would play with them for all of five seconds and then she would chuck them. At one point I put all her toys in with her and she was still freaking!

It was so nice to be able to get away as a family and be able to just enjoy every little thing about Avery. One of my favorite things as a mom is watching Avery learning new things and connecting things that we have been working on. While at the zoo I would show Avery the sign for every animal, instantly she would pick up the sign and sign it back to me. Now Avery will sign the following animals: bird, chicken, dog, fish, bear, tiger, turtle and monkey.
