Poor Nate I know was super excited that I was not going to
be working and I am sure that I surprised him when I told him that I was going
to drive up to Utah for the weekend the day after I quite. I had planned on
driving up on Friday and then driving home the following Tuesday but then when
I got up there I decided that I might as well go up to Idaho and see my Grandma
and Phil. So when I called Nate I was super excited when he was just fine with
that and in fact he had been looking at flights to come up the following weekend
to help me drive home.
I stayed with Kirsten on Friday and Saturday and it would be
a understatement to say that Avery loved it there. Kirsten has three cats and
Avery would just chase them around any chance she got.
On Thursday we took a trip to Uncle Phil's Dairy. We loved every second of being with Phil and Stephanie and Jed. Jed is ALL farm boy infact if he could I think if he could he would run the dairy on his own.
Here is Mr. Jed showing us his cows and showing us how to pet them.
Little Miss Avery had some help from Uncle Phil while checking out the cows. The joy and excitement that came out of this little girl was the best. She would get brave enough to reach out to them and then she would get scared and pull back in just as they would be interested in her.
Jed then took us over to check out the chickens and collect the eggs. Look at how blue this boys eyes are!
Avery even got check out the baby chicks.
What a proud Papa!
Uncle Phil working hard.
Avery was sad that she was leaving the cows so Grandma and Uncle Phil helped her walk back.
Snuggling with a baby kitty.
Jed showed Avery his toys and the supervised to make sure she played with them correctly.
This little boy climbed up the tractor with no help. I was talking with Stephanie and she was telling me that she really has to watch him because he loves to get up in all the tractors and will try to start them.
Avery was super content just playing in the bucket of the tractor.
I love this picture I feel like it just captures the entire peaceful feeling of being out on the dairy that day with beautiful views all around us.
We sure love this little family and are so grateful that we could get the entire tour of the dairy and then sit and enjoy them. I just wish we lived closer so we could go up and see them more often.
